The Roster
The Minco football team is back in action and they’re looking to improve on last year’s 3-6 record. This season, the Minco Rams are led by first-year head coach Mike Morgan and they have a talented group of players that are eager to make a strong impression on the league. Here is a look at the team’s roster:
Quarterback: Tyler Smith
Running Back: Bryan Haught
Wide Receiver: Keenan Landers
Tight End: Cade Jennings
Offensive Linemen: Simon Ramirez, Jace Ridenhour, Griffin Metzger, Owen Winters, Nick Wirth
Defensive Linemen: Kobe Henke, Aidan Eggleston, Cameron Hudson, Chase Stonebraker
The Offense
The Minco football roster is shaping up to be one of the most talented in recent history. With so many players returning and some key additions, the Eagles should be contenders for the Central Division title and possibly even a playoff spot.
Here’s a look at all of the players on the Minco roster, with bios and highlights:
1. Kaleb Bennett (6’4, 190 lbs., QB) – Bennett was one of the breakout stars last season for Minco, leading the team to an 8-2 record as their starting quarterback. He has a strong arm and can make all of the throws, making him a difficult opponent for opposing defenses.
2. CJ Brown (6’4″, 190 lbs., RB) – Brown led Minco in rushing yards last season with 720 yards on 78 carries (5.9 avg.) He is shifty and elusive with good speed and strength, making him hard to bring down once he gets going.
3. Ryan Buenrostro (6’0″, 180 lbs., WR) – Buenrostro was one of Minco’s top receivers last season, hauling in 47 passes for 602 yards and six touchdowns. He is physical at receiver and can get open deep downfield, making him dangerous anytime he’s on the field.
4. Tanner Christensen (5’11”, 170 lbs., WR/DB) – Christensen was another standout receiver for Minco last season, compiling 58
The Defense
The Minco football team unveiled its 2016 roster on Monday morning. The roster features a mix of returning players and newcomers. Here’s what we know so far about the team:
-The Minco defense will be led by captains Will Mortensen and Caden Poteet. Mortensen is a three-time all-conference selection, while Poteet was an all-state selection as a junior. The D-line also features starters Jarrod Knox and Reid Lewis, who combined for 77 tackles and four sacks last season.
-On offense, the Minco offense will be spearheaded by senior quarterback Kameron Carpenter. Carpenter ranked third in the state in passing yards (3,538) last year and threw for 37 touchdowns. He’ll have help from juniors Hunter Greaves and Josh Gaines, who rushed for 1,370 yards and 18 touchdowns between them last season.
Players to Watch
There are a lot of players to watch when smcc football 2022 monroe takes the field this year. Here are four players to keep an eye on:
1. quarterback Cole Young – Young is the incumbent starter and showed his potential last year with over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns through the air. He’s a leader on and off the field, and will need to continue to play at a high level in order to lead his team to success.
2. running back Cameron Reed – Reed was one of Minco’s most impressive recruits in terms of both size and speed. He should be featured prominently in the running game this season, and will be looking to prove he can carry the load after averaging more than 8 yards per carry as a junior.
3. receiver D’Angelo Bettis – Bettis is one of Minco’s most versatile players, having caught passes from both Young and Reed last season. He’ll need to step up this year if the Mustangs are going to compete against some of the bigger teams in District 10-5A.
4. defensive lineman Trenton Hooks – Hooks could easily become one of Minco’s all-time best defenders if he continues to develop at his current pace. He has elite size for a defensive lineman (6’4″, 310 lbs.) and plays with tons of intensity, which should make him difficult for opponents to score against.
Conclusion
It has been a few months since the Minco football team announced its roster for the 2022 season. With so much speculation and rumors flying around, it is hard to know what to believe. However, by taking a closer look at the players on the roster we can start to piece together some of the story. “The Minco 2021 Roster And The Lies That Went With It” The first thing that caught my eye when I looked through the roster were all of the hyped recruits. Names like Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Anthony Miller and Derrius Guice were plastered all over social media as if they would be joining us right away. While I am happy these players found their way to our campus, it is important to remember this: none of these players are actually coming yet. Murray was supposed to come in December but he backed out at the last minute citing injury concerns … yikes! As for Guice- well let’s just say his high school coach had better things to do than prep him for college football (which seems kind of obvious). In short: take everything you read about this team with a grain of salt until things actually happen.
